UFC 259: Blachowicz vs. Adesanya: Coby's Best Bets

The UFC brings ups its most stacked card of the year tonight headlined by, UFC middleweight champ, Israel Adesanya takes on, UFC light heavyweight champ, Jan Blachowicz for the UFC light heavyweight strap.

The main event is one of three title fights on the card as the greatest female MMA fighter to ever live, Amanda Nunes, makes her 2ndfeatherweight title defense, this one against Megan Anderson. Petr Yan is set to defend his bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling.

Also, on this stacked card, Islam Makhachev vs. Drew Dober, Alexander Rakic vs. Thiago Santos and Dominick Cruz vs. Casey Kenney. Not to mention the earlier prelims who will feature Song Yadong vs. Kyler Phillips, Askar Askarov vs. Joe Benavidez and Sean Brady vs. Jake Matthews.

The fights I would stay away from, on the gambling side, are Amanda Lemos vs. Livinha Souza, Petr Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling and Song Yadong vs. Kyler Phillips. All these bouts just seem to be too close for comfort for me.

I’m 11-3-1 in the last 5 articles here, however I post full card plays and props on my Twitter @_CobyW.

1. Rakic/Santos U2.5 -140

This is going to be one of the best fights on the card. A standup war between two experienced and elite strikers. In Thiago Santos’ 29-fight pro career, he has only been to the judge’s score cards 8 times. He has 15 wins by KO and 1 by submission, however he has 3 losses by sub and 3 by KO. Alexander Rakic on the other hand, has 15 pro bouts and has only been to the scorecards 4 time. Santos is on a two fight losing streak and needs to bounce back with a W here as the underdog. Overall, this is going to be a war and someone is getting slept.
