UFC 258 Usman vs. Burns: Coby's Best Bets

The UFC returns tonight to the fight capital of the world tonight as the welterweight king, Kamaru Usman defends his strap against former teammate Gilbert Burns.

Also on this card, Maycee Barber vs. Alexa Grasso, Kelvin Gastelum vs. Ian Heinisch and Belal Muhammad vs. Dhiego Lima. My Fight of the night candidates are Brian Kelleher vs. Ricky Simon, Phillip Rowe vs. Gabe Green and Julian Marquez vs. Maki Pitolo.

As far as gambling goes, this code was tough to crack. I love some of those prop plays.

You can find my props and full card on my twitter @_CobyW. My apologies in advance for the shorter article today.

1. Muhammad by Dec -150

Belal Muhammad is an absolute beast. With a UFC record of 8-3, Muhammad has fought some decent competition. Dhiego Lima fits right in the category of a decent fighter who is extremely tough. Muhammad currently sits around a -500 favorite and getting this line at -150 is solid value. Muhammad has 12 wins by decision out of his 17. Lima has only lost by decision twice however, 3 of his last 4 fights have went the distance. If you don’t feel super safe taking Muhammad by decision here hedge with him by finish +260.

2. Rowe/Green U2.5 -130

Something seems a bit fishy about the line. This could be a trap, but maybe I’m overthinking it. Phillip Rowe is 7-2 and has won all his fights by finish. Rowe has only been to decision once in his pro career and it was his last loss in 2015. Gabe Green is 9-3 and has gotten the finish in all his wins. Green has also only been to decision once and lost in May of 2020. This just seems too good to be true at this price and I will be ok with biting the bait here.

Honorable Mention: Usman/Burns u4.5 +120
