Wednesday night's championship game was one for the books as the number 23 ranked Florida Gators came in to Fort Myers to play the Ohio State Buckeyes. Both teams coming off of great round one performances on Monday and the fans got what they expected. The Buckeyes came out hot starting the game 6-13 and Gator fans were getting nervous. Then UF turned on the full court press and it started working, this is one of the better defenses I have seen and when they are playing to their full potential they are hard to beat. Big man Colin Castleton played well again with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Phlandrous Fleming Jr played out of his mind and was one of the main reasons the Gators won this game, he had 19 points and a hard earned 4 steals off the top of their full-court press. Ohio State played well all around but E.J. Liddell's 23 points wasn't enough to beat the boys from "The Swamp". Ohio State was up 68-66 with 40 seconds left in the game and it almost looked over until freak athlete Anthony Duruji rolled to the basket and caught a thunderous alley-oop to tie the game. The Buckeyes got the ball back and went down the court only to miss, and it almost looked like this game might go to overtime. Until the Gators did not call a timeout and Senior guard Tyree Appleby fired away with a second left and hit a buzzer beater to win the Fort Myers Tip-Off in electric fashion.
