TNF Preview w/ Bonus NHL Pick

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Philadelphia Eagles

Line: Tampa Bay -7 +100

Total: 52.5

We’re back for another TNF preview! This week we get Tampa traveling to Philly to take on the Eagles. The Bucs are laying a full touchdown on the road tonight. I’ve seen this line bouncing around 6.5 and 7.5 throughout the week. This is important because depending on which side your betting you want to either be inside or outside that key number of 7. The total on this game has been bouncing around a bit as well. It opened at a 50.5 but immediately got steamed up to 53.5. It has moved around a bunch since then getting all the way back down to 50.5 again but ultimately settling at 52.5.

I think this could end up being a rather exciting game. At first glance, I think a lot of people would expect the Bucs to run through the Eagles, but I am not sure their defense is good enough for a blow out against a competent team at this point. We have seen that the Bucs pass defense is certainly suspect. They currently rank 32nd in the league in pass yards allowed per game. While the Eagles have had some success moving the ball through the air this year. On the other side, the Bucs pass offense this year has been phenomenal ranking first in the NFL in passing yards. The Eagles defense has been decent against the pass this year, but they haven’t gone up against a team with this caliber of weapons this year.

I think injuries are going to play a key part in this game. The eagles have already been pretty banged up this year. Lane Johnson will miss another game with a personal issue and TE Dallas Goedert is out due to COVID. On the other side, the Buccaneers will be without Lavonte David, Antoine Winfield and Gronk for another week. Their secondary has already been very injured this year, so adding Winfield to the mix could make things that much worse.

Trends:

- The Over in Tampa Bay games is 5-1 this year. The Bucs are averaging 33.4 ppg.

- The Eagles are averaging 23 ppg this year.

- Tampa 2-3 ATS

- Philly 2-3 ATS

I think you might be able to tell where I am going with this. I see this game being very high scoring. The Eagles are going to struggle stopping the GOAT with all his weapons. Well likewise, I think the Eagles should have some success throwing the ball. Ideally, Tampa will get up early and the Philly will be forced to chuck the ball all game. I will have a play on the over. As far as the spread goes, I don’t think I’m comfortable laying 7 with the Bucs. The Eagles can be scrappy and the injury news in Tampa honestly scares me. However, I do think the Bucs win the game. So, they are the perfect candidate for a teaser leg. Get them down to -1, so we don’t have to worry about covering the number. I am going to pair them with the Chiefs this week. At this point its kind of a must win game for KC after a really slow start. I really can’t seem them losing again this week.

Picks: No lock of the century this Thursday, unfortunately, but I do really like these plays!

OVER 52.5 -- 1 Unit

6-point teaser: Buccaneers -1/Chiefs -0.5

Sunday Look Ahead:

Ill give some quick spots I’m targeting or have already bet for this upcoming Sunday. I will go into more detail in a blog later this week. I have been searching the board all week looking for some underdogs to get down on. Problem is, I can’t find a single one I like. So, I might be SpongeBob SquarePants this week taking all favorites. Kind of hate it, but nothing else is jumping out to me.

- Packers -4.5 @ Chicago

- Ravens -2.5 @ Home vs Chargers

- Over 52 Ravens/Chargers

- Bengals -3 @ Detroit

- Under 49 Tams/Giants

- Dallas -3.5 @ New England

Bonus Pick – I have a little bonus pick I feel pretty good about tonight if you need a little extra juice. I am a huge NHL hockey fan and love the Buffalo Sabres. Unfortunately, the Buffalo Sabres are TERRIBLE. They open the season against Montreal tonight. I will be betting against my favorite team and taking Montreal -140.
