The 6-19 Timberwolves come in to Charlotte to play the 12-14 Hornets Friday night. Maybe not the best matchup of team talent but a game I will be watching for sure. KAT has not played a lot of games this season due to injuries and covid but he came back last night and played well dropping 18 points 10 boards and 3 assists. Towns has recorded a double double in every game he has played this season, he has only played in five games sadly but he looks to play more consistently now. Outside of him this timberwolves team has been rather disappointing, DLO is sitting out this game and the game before due to a leg injury but even when healthy he has not been spectacular. Averaging 19 points and only 5 assists per game and his turnover numbers still being kinda high for how little his assists totals are. Anthony Edwards has been alright but I expected more from the first overall pick in the draft, he has tallied 14 points per game and his assist to turnover ratio is not good. It looks like Minnesota might have to start fro scratch, if the Timberwolves wanted to succeed they should have selected the guy on the other side of the ball. Lamelo Ball has been easily the best rookie out of that draft class so far and he is not even getting much of a chance in Charlotte. His leash is very tight and 2/3 of their other best players play the same position as him. Devonte' Graham is most likely out for tonight's game which would bump Ball up to the starting lineup for the fifth straight game. He has proven that he is head and shoulders above the crowd as the rookie of the year favorite. Gordon Hayward has given this team the veteran presence that it needed averaging 22.6 points 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists. I look for KAT to eat against the Hornets weaker big men tonight but he is still a little rusty and I do not think he can do it all by himself. I see Lamelo Ball and the Hornets winning tonight and covering the -3.5 spread.
