Rockets vs Wizards Preview, Is Westbrook Washed?

The 6-9 Rockets come into Washington to play the depressing and so far lackluster 3-9 Wizards team. Infested with Covid the Wizards are still giving it their all led by their superstar shooting guard, Bradley Beal averaging 34.5 points per game. The trade they made in the beginning of the year with Houston to bring in Westbrook was supposed help them improve. It is early in the season but Westbrook is not looking like the same guy who won MVP in 2017. He is averaging 18 points per game which is the lowest it has been since his sophomore season. His rebound and assists numbers are still looking good but he is also averaging the second highest amount of turnovers in his career. I do think he’ll have a good game tonight against his former team but if I was Beal I would be begging to get out of Washington. On the other hand Houston has been alright since trading Harden. Mostly thanks to Christian Wood who is one of the front runners for most improved players this year, averaging 23.5 points 1.8 blocks and 10.8 rebounds all career highs. Wood is doubtful against the Wizards on Tuesday after suffering an ankle injuring last week and being held out the last two games. Without wood I do not like taking the Rockets spread, my picks will be

Rockets 2Q -0.5

Knicks +11.5

PJ Tucker over 6.5 points

- SmokeLeb
