Palmetto Championship at Congaree Preview

What’s up degenerates, After a wild ride of a week last week, we are just one week away from the U.S. Open! Before we get to the next major of the year, we are at the Palmetto Championship at Congraree in South Carolina this week. This is a Par 71, and if they play from the furthest back tees it will be lined up as the longest Par 71 on tour. The course has manageable bunkers, open fairways, and minimal trees which is a change from most course in the fact that accuracy is not nearly as important as most weeks.

The lead up tournament to a major is the last chance for some of the top guys to fine tune their game to be ready for the tournament that really matters to their standings as well as bank account. A lot of the game’s biggest stars are taking the week off, but Dustin Johnson Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, and Harris English is enough star power to keep me interested through the week.

Unfortunately, the newest and hottest rivalry in golf right now will have to wait another week to potentially square off in the same featured group. Brooks and Bryson are in the middle of some beef that may or may not be exaggerated due to the new social media incentive the PGA has put in place to try and grow the game.
