Brooklyn Nets Projected Starting Lineup

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Caris LeVert

SF: Joe Harris

PF: Kevin Durant

C: Jarrett Allen

6th: Spencer Dinwiddie

I have the Brooklyn Nets atop of my list for one reason and one reason only, Kevin Durant, obviously this team has a lot of hype around them coming into the 2021 NBA season. Whenever you add a generational talent to a team that already has solid players such as Spencer Dinwiddie Jarrett Allen and of course Kyrie Irving you will have high expectations as an organization. They did not add many pieces in the offseason only acquiring Bruce Brown and Landry Shamet in trades and signing veteran Jeff Green to sure up their bench. There is a little bit of uncertainty on to who will start at center for Brooklyn next season but I think it should be the young and lengthy Jarrett Allen and that is what all the signs in camp are pointing towards. Putting two scorers of KD and Kyrie's caliber on the same team is a scary sight, if it works out like we hope it will they will probably dominate the Eastern Conference.

Philadelphia 76ersProjected Starting Lineup

PG: Ben Simmons

SG: Danny Green

SF: Matisse Thybulle

PF: Tobias Harris

C: Joel Embiid

6th: Seth Curry

Ohhhh the Sixers every year I think they are gonna be at least Eastern Conference Title contenders and every year I am wrong. I guess I will never learn my lesson because I believe they will finish second in the Atlantic Division. One of their biggest problems in the past couple years has been Joel Embiid's health and coming into the season he is 100% healthy and hopefully he stays that way. Ben Simmons is one of the best full court players in todays game with insane passing skills. I do not expect him to develop a jump shot any time soon but if he does what he does best him and Embiid can take this team to the promised land that Sam Hinkie envision so many tanking seasons ago. Matisse Thybulle is already one of the best wing defenders in the league in only his second season in the league and should continue to grow into a phenomenal professional player. Philadelphia made a lot of changes in the off-season acquiring Danny Green Seth Curry and Terrence Ferguson via trade. This will help their much needed 3-point shooting deficiencies. They also signed Dwight Howard a veteran to back up Embiid and drafted Tyrese Maxey out of Kentucky. Finally getting rid of Al Horford's huge contract will help this team for the future and they have high hopes for this upcoming season.

Projected Starting Lineup

PG: Jeff Teague (Kemba Walker out)

SG: Marcus Smart

SF: Jaylen Brown

PF: Jayson Tatum

C: Daniel Theis

6th: Aaron Nesmith

Next I have the Boston Celtics finishing third in the division led by now 6'10" budding superstar Jayson Tatum. This team is deep and just got deeper this offseason adding much needed center depth by signing Tristan Thompson and also signing veteran point guard Jeff Teague. They did trade away Gordon Hayward but he was not contributing to there team very much being that he played the same position as two of their top three players. In the draft they picked up Peyton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith who look to contribute to a winning team in their rookies years. On the downside Kemba Walker could be out about at least a month to begin the season with a knee injury. They also have a battle for the starting center job between Daniel Theis Tristan Thompson and Robert Williams. Theis will likely win the job and start the season at center due to previous success, but may not be the long term option.

Toronto Raptors Projected Starting Lineup

PG: Kyle Lowry

SG: Fred VanVleet

SF: OG Anunoby

PF: Pascal Siakam

C: Aaron Baynes

6th: Malachi Flynn

The Toronto Raptors have a bright future ahead of them and coming off of a championship winning season only two years ago they proved last year that they are still a team to be taken seriously even without Kawhi Leonard. Due to Canada's Covid restrictions the team is being forced to start the season in Tampa Florida which I believe is going to have a bigger impact than most people think. On the other hand they still have one of the best coaches in the NBA in Nick Nurse and have a good roster including All Star Pascal Siakam. They lost veterans Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol in the off season but which may hurt them this season but will free up cap room for players in the future. They signed big man Aaron Baynes to help them down low and still kept most of their pieces from their championship roster. Kyle Lowry is still doing his thing but at age 34 I am not sure how many seasons of top notch play he has left. They drafted guard Malachi Flynn out of San Diego State to start learning from Lowry and possibly be the point guard of the future. Fred VanVleet looks to continue his success as a undrafted diamond in the ruff and keep improving on all aspects of his game. My player to watch this year is OG Anunoby, each year in the league he has drastically improved his game and I do not expect him to stop any time soon.

New York Knicks Projected Starting Lineup

PG: Elfrid Payton

SG: Alec Burks

SF: RJ Barrett

PF: Julius Randle

C: Mitchell Robinson

6th: Obi Toppin

MY EYES!!!! STOP THE PAIN! The Knicks suck simple as that. Mitchell Robinson is a really good piece to have and he continues to get better each season. Their first round pick from last year, RJ Barrett, showed signs of being a good piece for the future as well. I love what they did with drafting Obi Toppin this year, I think he was the best player in college basketball last year and will help them win games this year. After those three players the rest is tough, Julius Randle is good and probably their best player but is not a a guy that can carry this team to the playoffs. Kevin Knox seems to be a bust and if you trade away a guy like Porzingis you better play whoever you get back and for some reason the Knicks think Dennis Smith Jr. is the worst player to grace the planet earth and deserves to sit behind Frank Ntilikina of all people. I think this team needs to be blown up and the entire organization needs to start from scratch including ownership and the front office. Keep Obi, Robinson and see what RJ can do in year two and hope for another top 5 pick. I hope they do well this season but I am not expecting big things from this team.
