March Madness for Golf?

What’s up degenerates,

Don’t know what to do with yourself now that we have to wait until Saturday for more March Madness? Well boy do I have great news for you. Golf has its own version of March Madness and it just so happens to be this week, if that doesn't get your gambling juices flowing I don't know what will.

The World Golf Championship- Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin Texas is one of the more unique events golf has to offer, with perfect timing with March Madness, it is a 64-person bracket broken up into 16 different Pools. Wednesday through Friday each player is matched up with a different player in their pool and play an 18-hole match where you count scoring hole by hole instead of stroke by stroke. The winner of each Pool will advance to the “Sweet 16,” that will begin Saturday morning where it turns into a single elimination bracket playing one match in the morning and if you advance play the “Elite 8,” that afternoon. If you win the match you play the Final 4 and the Championship round Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. This is one of the more difficult events to win because you must be playing solid golf for 7 rounds as opposed to just the normal 4.

Last year’s winner, Kevin Kisner has an extremely tough draw to try and repeat, having to advance past Justin Thomas to just get into the elimination rounds, which I predict he will not do.

This tournament is so hard to predict just as the NCAA Tournament is, so if you want to enter the Bracket Challenge, I suggest just closing your eyes and picking golfers, or just picking chalk and taking the top golfers. This tournament is PERFECT if you enjoy pick round by round matchups, which is why I know the Smoke Sports God Father is going to CRUSH this tournament, be on the look out on his twitter @NickyBets and YouTube show Smokin’ Greens.

I will be posting all of my round-by-round matchups on the BOW page, but I have a few outright plays, but will primarily be playing round by round.

Outright Winner: Dustin Johnson +1000

Justin Thomas +1100

Patrick Reed +2200

Sung-Jae Im +2800
