Cotton Bowl: #1 Alabama vs #4 Cincinnati
Orange Bowl: #2 Michigan vs #3 Georgia
I don’t think this should shock anyone. No one wants to see a Bama UGA rematch this quickly and these are some awesome matchups. The only thing in question is where the games will be played as I simply guessed since I have no idea if Bama prefers Miami or Austin.
Rose Bowl: Utah vs Ohio State
This one is all but official. Pac 12 champ versus the highest ranked Big 10 team. Utah is playing with a lot of fire and swagger right now as they have won 9 of their last 10 and destroyed Oregon twice in the last 2 weeks. Their physicality on both sides of the ball can give the Buckeyes issues, the same way Michigan did.
Sugar Bowl: Baylor vs Ole Miss
If this holds true, which it should and probably will, this will be a fantastic game as long as Dave Aranda stays at Baylor. Baylor’s defense is nasty and with efficient QB play and a solid rushing attack their offense can do some damage as well. Ole Miss’s offense is elite but their defense has really came on late as well. Watching Matt Corral play this Baylor defense will be a treat.
Peach Bowl: Pittsburgh vs Oklahoma State
These last two matchups are nowhere near as intriguing as the first four but I think this game has the chance to be fantastic. Kenny Pickett going against an OK State defense that has been stout all year will be awesome and if Jaylen Warren plays for the Cowboys, expect them to be able to light up the scoreboard as well.
Fiesta Bowl: Notre Dame vs Michigan State
MSU is the better team and Notre Dame has not really been battle tested this year as they have a goose egg in the ranked wins category. However, this is a Fighting Irish team that will be fired up to play for their newly hired coach Marcus Freeman and Freeman will be eager to win a NY6 Bowl in his first game as HC, to show the staff, fans and players he is legit and here to stay. This should be a very physical, close game.
