Best Bets for UFC on ESPN 11 Blaydes vs Volkov

Happy Saturday fellow fight fans and gamblers. The UFC returns to our tv screens tonight with an absolute banger of a main event between heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov.

It is pretty safe to say that this card has some insanely close fights, but the main event is definitely not one of them. Some fights that will have your eyes glued to your screen are Shane Burgos vs Josh Emmett, Bobby Green vs Clay Guida and Belal Muhammad vs Lyman Good.

The women’s fights on this card are actually pretty decent. You have veterans on the card like Roxanne Modaferri and Lauren Murphy as well as prospects like Brianna Van Buren. We even have two fighters on the card who are in a relationship together, in Raquel Pennington and Tecia Torres.

As for my picks, I went 9-1 last week, however my one loss was included in my best bets and was the first fight of the evening; I went undefeated after that. Therefore, I am absolutely done putting parlays in these damn articles.

As for tonight’s best bets for me, Blaydes is a guaranteed winner, but he is favored by basically a million so parlay him with one of these if your rolling with me.

  1. Roosevelt Roberts -245

I know Roosevelt Roberts is a sizable favorite, whatever we are for sure still rolling him. In Roberts’ last fight in May, when he was also in my best bets article, he dominated Brok Weaver with ease. Jim Miller is a savvy veteran with a good ground game and an extreme experience advantage. Roberts’ clearly has a disadvantage in the ground exchanges considering Miller is one of the all-time great Jiu Jitsu fighters in MMA, however Roberts has won 40% of his fights by submission. Miller will definitely try to get this one to the ground however, it is in Roberts’ best interest to keep this one on the feet. This is Roosevelt’s fight to lose, it’s just a matter of how deep he will be willing to dig.

2. Belal Muhammad -130

Belal is a guy I have been watching fight for over five years now. His style is insanely effective against most opponents. Muhammad is a gritty wrestler who has precise hands, but he will drag his opposition around the cage like a rag doll and drain their gas tank with ground and pound. Veteran power puncher, Lyman Good, is absolutely no cake walk; he is an ex-Bellator champ and has fought some badasses. To me this is a classic wrestler takes on striker fight. If Belal survives through the early part of the first round and establishes a few takedowns early I think he wins this bout with ease. Overall the relentless style of Belal hopeful will be too much for Lyman Good to handle.
